Welcome to Stepping Stones!

Congratulations, and welcome to Stepping Stones Preschool!

Now that your little one has been registered and assigned a class, you probably wonder, “What comes next?” or “What do I need to bring?”. This page will guide you on what to expect on your preschooler’s first day and what documents will be required by the office before you leave campus.

What should I bring?

  • A medium-sized backpack your preschooler can carry and collect their projects in at the end of each day.

  • A change of clothes (or two!). Preschoolers will be messy and wet, so don’t bring or wear your ‘Sunday best.’

  • A water bottle filled with water only.

  • If staying all day, a packed lunch with healthy foods. If providing juice, 100% juice only.

  • Prescribed medications (bring to the office) in their original package, with doctor’s note, treatment plan, and a signed Medical Consent Form.

  • A smile and a sense of adventure!

What documents do I need?

Several documents need to be brought with you on your first day before your preschooler can be left in the care of Stepping Stones Preschool. Please find these documents using the links below:

My First Day…

You’re almost there!

As the excitement builds for that first day, your preschooler may be curious about what that day will look like. Here is an idea for both parents and students on what to expect:

On your first day, please arrive at your classroom 10-15 minutes before the start time so the teacher can guide new students through the routine of where to go, where to put things, and what is expected of them. This also leaves time for parents to ask any lingering questions they may have.

If this is your first experience leaving your child behind, they may feel anxious about the separation. Be sure to get all your hugs and kisses in quickly so they can start their day, explore the classroom, and make new friends. Tears sometimes happen, but by the end of the day, your preschooler will be excited to tell you about all the fun things they did!

You should have already received an invitation to download the ProCare app and register for an account, which gives you access to your unique PIN code. The teacher will have a tablet for you to enter this PIN code to sign in your student. You will also use this to sign out during pickup. This app also allows you to communicate with the teacher and see photos of all the fun things the kids do daily.

If you use Kids’ Club for early drop-off from 8 - 9 a.m., the sign-in procedure will be the same; Kids’ Club is located next door to the school office.
