A Little About Me…
I married my college sweetheart and have 4 terrific kids – all of who are Stepping Stones Alumni! My journey at Stepping Stones Preschool started in 1997 when my first child attended Mrs. Berneburg’s 3’s class. I spent the next 10 years supporting the school as an active “participating parent” and board member. As my children grew and I saw my last child go off to kindergarten, I had an opportunity to join the Stepping Stones Preschool staff teaching in the 3’s class & playroom.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Services with an emphasis in children programming. Prior to coming to Stepping Stones, I worked in a year-round program for the City of Encinitas, California and the City of Tempe, Arizona.
My greatest moments, here at the preschool, have been enjoying the opportunity to watch children grow and develop everyday. To have the opportunity to be part of a child’s early educational development is an opportunity in itself. Being able to teach and support children as they accomplish tasks such as sharing stories and singing songs with their peers and parents is exciting. Their “ah-ha” moments are my greatest accomplishments. I’m always up to learning new things and take early education courses throughout the school year.
On a personal note, I feel that by experiencing both a parent role and teacher role at Stepping Stones, I see the value each holds. Participating parents are a vital part of the preschool, and the board members keep everything moving smoothly. I take pride in my position as a teacher and realize how blessed we are to have such supportive directors, which allow us the freedom to be creative and bring our very best to the students and classroom everyday.
Best Regards, Theresa
